Aschaffenburg, March 28th 2008 - The partnership between Miles & More and the T-Online Web Shop started in July last year. After a good six months, 200 million award miles have already been redeemed in the T-Online Shop; this corresponds to about 600.000 Euros. Given the strong growth of the T-Online Shop, it is expected that a total of one billion award miles will have been redeemed by the end of the year 2008!
In the context of "Miles & More", Lufthansa's well known system for the collection of so-called award miles, customers can collect the latter throughout the world and then redeem them for travel awards or exclusive event and material prizes at selected partner companies or in the Lufthansa WorldShop.
Since 2007, such "award miles" can also be collected and redeemed in the T-Online Shop, which has been run successfully for five years by the e-commerce specialist 004 GmbH. This goes down very well with the customers, as the assortment offers exciting new products, which can be purchased with miles: from Full HD TVs to High End Notebooks and from washing machines to wine refrigerators. As the range in the T-Online Shop is always up-to-date and very attractive, and as Christmas trade is expected to be strong this year again, it is assumed that the billon redeemed miles will have been reached by the end of the year. The T-Online Shop also offers Lufthansa's Miles & More customers the possibility of collecting award miles when purchasing in the shop. At Easter, T-Online Shop customers even earned triple award miles on selected products.
